Hardware exposure and familiarity began in 1986 using COMPAQ 80x86 and x88 computers for the American Training Center in Cairo,
EGYPT where I trained students in the use of DOS, WordStar, and Lotus 1-2-3. In 1991 purchased a 80x88 + 1.44M 3.5" floppy drive +
2400 bps Hayes modem in 1991 which was used to compile programs in Turbo Pascal and remotely access VAX/VMS systems at UNCG. Then
moved to a 286 laptop running the COHERENT unix clone for 286 computers, traded that in for a desktop 286 and later upgraded that to
a Cyrix 486 which later evolved into Cyrix 5x86, Cyrix 6x86 and is now an AMD K2 400. Operating systems used include: FreeBSD,
WFW 3.11, Linux, Windows 95, 98, NT WS 3.51, 4.0, NT SVR 4.0 and Windows 2000. All personal systems, built or evolved from scratch.
Three years experience with enterprise deployment and support of Dell Optiplex and Lattitude systems running Windows NT Workstation.
